Enlarged pores on face can make your skin look unhealthy. They can further increase skin care problems, such as acne and blackheads, especially for people with oily skin. Even though there are various kinds of cosmetic treatments available in the market today, let’s not forget that pores are a natural part of our skin and cannot be eliminated completely. So before you go in for any of the expensive treatment, try out these inexpensive and naturally remedies to reduce pores.
A homemade sugar scrub can help reducing large pores as they exfoliate the skin and remove excess oil and impurities.
Put sugar on a slice of lemon and gently rub it all over your face. Leave it on for 10 minutes, and then wash your face.
Baking soda also works as an exfoliating agent, removes excess oil & dirt from skin. It also helps in maintaining the pH levels of the skin and further helps in reducing problems such as acne and pimples as it has anti-bacterial properties.
Mix two tablespoons of baking soda with room temperature water. Apply on skin and massage in circular motions. Rinse it off with cold water.
Apple Cider Vinegar-
Apple cider vinegar acts as a natural skin toner. It tightens skin, large pores and also restores the skin’s pH balance. Its anti-inflammatory properties help acne breakouts. Use daily to see the difference in your skin.
Mix equal parts of apple cider vinegar and water, apply using cotton balls. Leave it on for a few minutes and rinse it off. Use every night after cleansing.
Lemon juice contains citric acid which helps exfoliates the skin. It will also reduce any dark spots on the skin due to the bleaching effects.
Apply the combination of one teaspoon each of lemon juice and cinnamon powder for 15 to 20 minutes. Repeat daily for best results.
This works as a natural astringent and helps to shrink the open pores. Cucumber will also improve the texture of your skin and add a fresh glow.
Create a mixture of rose water and cucumber juice. Apply it on your skin, and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes and rinse.
Yogurt contains lactic acid that helps eliminate the excess oil and dirt thereby, minimizing the appearance of the pores. All you have to do is apply a layer of plain yogurt on your face. Let it sit for 10 minutes, and then rinse it off.
Oatmeal exfoliates the skin and hence removing excess oil & dead skin cells. Oatmeal is great for sensitive skin.
Here is how you can use it:
Mix together three tablespoons of honey, two tablespoons of milk powder and two tablespoons of oatmeal. Apply this mixture on your face and rub in circular motions. Leave it on for 15 minutes and wash with cold water.
