Girls, we all want our hair to always look like it does in the fashion magazines, don’t we? Well, in order for that to happen… they need to be taken care of. By this, we mean cleaning them regularly! Tell us honestly girls when was the last time you cleaned your hair styling tools? What about your blow dryer and curling or flat irons. Yes, your blow dryer and straightener need cleaning too. The product build-up on your hair tools can burn hair and also cause split ends. Today, we will show you the simplest ways to take care of your hair styling tools and accessories. Not only will they last longer, they will also work better and ensure your hair looks gorgeous.
Cleaning Hairbrushes and Combs
Ever thought about what gets stuck in your hair brush: hair spray, oil from your scalp, another product residue, dust and germs. Now think about what happens when you don’t clean it for weeks! You don’t want any of those in your freshly washed hair… Do you?
Step 1: Take any long, thin tool (a pair of closed scissors or a toothpick ), slide it under the stuck hair in the brush, and gently tug upwards until it comes out of the bristles.
Step 2: Next Step is to wash the brushes. Fill up a big bowl or a mug with warm water and splash some shampoo. Now let the brushes/combs soak for some time. After that clean them with a fresh toothbrush .
Done! Your brushes are now clean, you can let them air dry overnight!
Cleaning Curlers and Flat Irons
Don’t let the icky product buildup on your hairstyling tools such as curlers and flat irons as they tend to burn your hair and cause split ends! To keep your hot tools in an amazing condition, it’s important to clean them well in order to get rid of that dirt and germs.
Step 1: Make sure they are not plugged into the socket. Dip a piece of cloth in water and rub over the surface of the tool over and over again to get rid of as much gunk as possible. In case, water doesn’t work on the tools, add a little rubbing alcohol. This will work like magic and leave your styling tools sparkling.
Step 2: Enjoy the smooth sailing of your straightener and amazing bouncy curls from your curler.
Cleaning Hair Accessories
Don’t forget your headbands, hair ties, and hair clips! They also have hair product buildup, as well as potential sweat and pollution from being outdoors. Hence, every once in a while, throw them all in the sink with warm water and a few drops of baby shampoo as it is milder than others. Gently rub each accessory and then dry them on a towel. You will be surprised to see the amount of dirt that comes out of your hair accessories!
Remember, all you pretty girls, the better we care for our hair tools, the better they care for our hair!!
Have a happy hair day!!
