7 Makeup Tips & Ideas for a first date

Are you going out on your first date? Do you want to impress your date? While first dates are all about the romance, excitement, butterflies, anticipation and wanting to impress the new boy. While trying to impress the new boy, we girls tend to get carried away; doesn’t it? We decide to try out a new hairstyle, new makeup or a new dress but we forget is the most important thing i.e. he asked you out because he likes you for who you are. All you need is to be yourself! But you still want that extra touch of glamour; we have some tips and tricks for you!

Remember the Occasion-

Girls, remember it’s a date, not a wedding! Also, keep in mind the time and place you are going to. Say if you are going for a brunch date, then smokey eyes with bold lips is a strict no-no! While you wear this look for a dinner date, smokey eyes would look stunning!

Let your eyes do the talking-

Make your eyes sparkle with a neutral shade shimmery eye shadow. However, don’t go overboard with eyeliner. Make sure to wear enough eyeliner to add dimension to your eyes, save the cat eye for the second date! And girls, don’t forget to apply mascara. This is one product you can apply heavily. Apply two to three coats of mascara to make your eyes pop!

Don’t try anything new-

New look & new products are another big no-no! Even though a new look sounds very exciting, it may not be the wisest thing to do. However, if you really want to try something new practice it a night before to see how it really how looks. Because to be honest, a trying out a new look can go both ways! The same rule applies to new products you really don’t want your skin breaking out or you look like a ghost on you’re the first date. What a horror!

Avoid Bold Lipsticks-

Bold colors such as a red lipstick can be a little overbearing on the first date. You don’t want that, do you? Opt for soft, feminine colors such as a peachy pink, a rosy pink color or nude shades!

Natural Blush-

Choose a more natural looking blush. However, this tip is not specific to the first date, but at all times- choose a more natural shade such as pink, peach or brown. A shade which is soft and compliments your skin tone.

Conceal-

Instead of opting for a heavy foundation, cover up puffy under eye or any acne scars with a good full coverage concealer. After concealer, apply a BB cream or a tinted moisturiser whichever suits your skin better. Don’t forget to set your makeup with loose powder, as it gives a more natural and matt finish.

Lastly, remember any make-up you use must match your skin tone or else you will end up looking like a ghost on your first date!

Don’t forget to relax, be yourself and have an amazing time!
